Phuket Trip - Day 2

Had a very pack schedule on the second day. Basically the activities for the day were Elephant trekking and Sunset + Island tour.

The truck that pick us up from hotel to the Island Safari (Elephant Trekking place)

Customize trek made for elephants

They just stopped and hunt for more greens. It's amazing that their trunk is so strong and powerful yet sensitive to the grass around them

Look at its skin...

After the trekking, young elephants proudly showing off their skills.

Hand-craft elephants. So detailed

The orchids are so big and blossom

Monkey and coconuts

After the trekking, we went back to Patong beach where we were staying for 2 nights to have our lunch. It's not very difficult to find food but to find a cheap one is hard.

Seafood tom yam.

Green curry beef

Fried squid and prawns

The lunch costs us 360 baht with the 3 dishes above, small bottle of Singha beer and a bowl of rice. Time to walkabout the street before depart for the Island tour

Those are soap, attractive colors and design

Got a good deal on the sunglasses

hot eggs and pulut

famous attraction - Patong beach

After the stroll at the beach, it's time to on board to Phang Nga bay (situated at the north of Phuket). Here are the snapshots by Sebastian.

This look like a ship to me

How small we are, so stop comparing yourself with others

Below are the pictures of the strange and beautiful limestone scenery of Phang Nga. Strange is because it has hundreds of tiny islands that contain hidden caves, tunnels, which local people named them as "hongs". Because of the hidden caves and tunnels, big boat can't access, we need to kayak in to view the unique stones.

Good thing is, we got professional to paddle. We just sit back and relax

When you look at the marvelous landscape, the natural environment, the uniqueness of each island, you will know that there is a Creator out there who created all these. Yet we take them for granted...

Phuket Trip - Day 1

Went to Phuket, Thailand for 5 days 4 nights in Dec 08. It was a great experience. Let the photos do the talk.

Air Asia still the cheapest in town...so far.

The journey from Kuala Lumpur to Phuket is around 1 hour 15mins. However I only felt like it was a 45mins ride.

Can you spot the lil' tiny island?

Upon reaching, there will be a lot of taxi drivers welcoming your presence. So no worries on the transportation. Basically there are three types: taxi (most expensive), mini bus (basically is a 12 seater van) and followed by "Tuk Tuk".

Don't underestimate by the look of the "tuk tuk". The fare is quite costly too.

The distance from aiport to Patong Beach (the most happening place) is around 40 mins. Along the journey, saw some weird stuff. Here you go...

There are so many disc...wondering whether all cables are FOC. Could you spot Astro?

Predator guarding the pub!?

I've been asking around what is the not-must-miss-show in Phuket. Apparently, Fantasea Show is the must must for first timer in Phuket. It's more like a theme park. Nice statues, building, lighting, deco, cute and weird characters for photo opportunity.

Looks like our local fun fair

Could you spot the jelly fish character?

Another cute yet scary character moving around

A jewelery shop with its matching design

Sparkling elephant

I like the combination of the colors

Bird in the cage...but in a beautiful cage

Before the show begins, I had a Eat-All-You-Can-International-Buffet. It's part of the package.

Entrance to the food haven. Grand huh?

Take a closer look at the crafting

Nice sculpting...

The main highlight of the Fantasea Show is the cultural dance. You able to know a bit of Thailand history, and why the Thais so heart the elephants.

Cameras are not allowed during the showtime

Elephant and the prince are the main casts

Coming out from the cave

Thais really heart their elephants.

A closer shot. A very detailed crafting

The most expensive elephants. blue eyes. gold skin.

That's the first day in Phuket. Yes, I only reached the town at 6pm. Stay tuned for more pictures. By the way, Thailand also known as Land of Smiles.

Sawadee-ka!
